Born, Raised & Rooted
Born and raised in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, my journey has been anything but conventional. After taking an alternative path in my youth—leaving high school early to earn my GED—I faced years of trying to find solid footing in the traditional job market. Through every twist, turn, and personal struggle, one constant remained: a lifelong passion for drawing that began when I was just a kid.
While I have dedicated hours to working as a medical transport technician to keep moving forward, my ultimate calling has always lived on the tip of my brush and pen.
The Mediums: A Contrast of Control and Chaos
My career as a visual artist thrives on a unique contrast: the ultimate discipline of hyperrealism and the beautiful unpredictability of nature. I divide my creative energy between two completely distinct worlds.
1. The World’s Most Hyperrealistic Napkin Art
I create the most hyperrealistic drawings on napkins ever, executing flawless, freehand portraiture entirely on ordinary paper napkins.
I first began drawing on napkins in 2016. The choice of medium started as an accident while doodling over a meal, but it quickly became a vital part of my artistic discipline. Because a paper napkin is incredibly fragile, it forces me to completely slow down, breathe, and focus with absolute precision. To achieve this level of staggering, lifelike detail without ripping the paper, I spend one to two hours a day over the span of roughly a month on a single piece. My portfolio centers around hyper-detailed portraits of iconic cultural figures, including Sylvester Stallone, Julia Roberts, John Wayne, and Marilyn Manson.
2. The Raindrop Technique: Born From a Happy Accident
When I step away from the micro-precision of napkins, I move to the opposite extreme: massive, large-scale abstract paintings. I founded my signature raindrop technique completely by accident in 2023.
I had left a large painting outside one day to dry, and it unexpectedly rained that night. When I went out the next morning, I discovered that the storm had completely distorted my work, washing and blending it into an even more beautiful abstract painting than I had originally intended. Seeing the breathtaking textures created by nature, I was hooked. Ever since that night, I have intentionally used the rainfall to distort paint on large canvases, collaborating with the elements to create deeply emotional, atmospheric abstract art that can never be replicated in a traditional studio setting.
The Rise of "Idolgenius"
As my craft matured and these dual styles solidified, I took a major step forward in my professional journey. In 2025, I officially began showcasing my work under the artist name Idolgenius, marking a new chapter of identity and vision for my art.
Looking Forward
Art has always been my anchor during tough times, and now my goal is to share that anchor with the world. Under the banner of Idolgenius, I am actively working to gain recognition in the broader art community, with the ultimate dream of opening my own dedicated art studio. I want to build a space where I can showcase the beauty of unexpected mediums—bridging the gap between hyperrealistic paper napkin art and nature-driven abstract canvases.
